Kate Donovan and Carson Domey Participate in the 5G Transatlantic Lab's Hack the Hospital 2.0

On the weekend of February 18-19, Carson Domey and Kate Donovan participated in the 5G Transatlantic Lab’s Hack the Hospital 2.0, a 48-hour hackathon that focused on designing the hospital room of the future. In addition to virtual participation, the hackathon hosted in-person sites in London, Barcelona, and Toronto. In total, Carson’s Crew was able to collaborate alongside over 300 participants from 18 different countries who are all dedicated to improving patients’ experience.

Last year’s Hack the Hospital’s mission was to improve patient socialization following the isolating impacts of COVID-19. Both Kate and Carson were involved as mentors and were able to spearhead brainstorming by sharing both their respective clinical and personal perspectives. This year, Kate served as a judge while Carson was on staff as a primary patient advisor, where he met with every team and aided in creating innovations that would improve the inpatient experience.

It was such an honor to work with Garage Stories and the 5G Transatlantic Lab for the second year in a row. Participating in events like this are at the heart of our mission as they serve as an excellent opportunity to make a major difference in the future of healthcare through innovation.
