Carson Domey Keynotes the Boston Children's Hospital Digital Wellness Lab's Convening on Civility in the Digital World

The Digital Wellness Lab at Boston Children’s Hospital kindly invited Carson Domey to give a presentation at their first Convening on Civility in the Digital World at Harvard Medical School. The convening aims to gather experts in public health, academia, and tech in collaboration to brainstorm policy solutions and innovations that cultivate a healthier online environment. Attendees included several key representatives in the industry – including leaders from TikTok, Roblox, Discord, and the United Nations.

What makes this collaboration and opportunity truly extraordinary is the influence of social and digital media policies in shaping the culture of billions of individuals. The collective work within this collaboration holds immense potential to bring about transformative change and help create a world that is positive, compassionate, and authentic.” - Carson Domey

Carson keynoted the convening alongside Dr. Stacy Drury, the psychiatrist-in-chief at Boston Children’s Hospital, speaking on the crucial concerns of young people in the digital age, including the toxic culture of social media and the subsequent impact on mental health, the lack of digital literacy, and concerns around data privacy. Furthermore, he was able to highlight the opportunity for digital media companies to reform their policies to better promote and foster mental health and wellbeing on their platforms, which can positively impact the lives of young people.
